Nam Cat Tien National Park

Nam Cat Tien National Park is one of Vietnam's most beautifully preserved natural landscapes with a total area of 70,548 hectares. It is home to grasslands, streams, and many different species from animals to plants, some of which are listed as rare animals and plants. About 150km north of Ho Chi Minh City, not too far, visitors can catch a bus, join organized tours or ride a motorbike to get to this place.

Cát Tiên National Park, located across three provinces—Đồng Nai, Lâm Đồng, and Bình Phước—is one of Vietnam’s most beautifully preserved natural landscapes, covering a total area of 70,548 hectares. It is home to lush grasslands, flowing streams, and a diverse range of flora and fauna, including some rare species.

Situated approximately 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City, it’s easily accessible by bus, organized tours, or motorbike. The best time to visit is from December to May when the weather is dry, with less rain, making wildlife exploration during the day more enjoyable.

Nature enthusiasts will appreciate trekking through the pristine forests of Nam Cát Tiên, where vibrant wildflowers, valuable herbs, ancient trees, and medicinal plants abound. While many domestic tourists prefer solo forest hikes to freely explore the wildlife, having a knowledgeable tour guide can enhance your understanding of the plant species’ developmental history.

You can also rent a jeep for off-road adventures or a bicycle to leisurely explore the surroundings and immerse yourself in nature. Don’t miss the chance to discover Crocodile Lake, home to over two hundred crocodiles—a fascinating natural tableau despite its somewhat intimidating name.

For a unique experience, consider nocturnal wildlife viewing. During this time, you can witness the lives of wild animals as they forage for food. Additionally, the Island of Golden-Headed Langurs Conservation Center is a must-see. Located on a secluded small island, it prepares endangered species like the Delacour’s langur, pygmy slow loris, golden-cheeked gibbon, and silvered langur with essential skills before reintroducing them into the wild.

In Nam Cat Tien, there are also some forest lodges with interesting names like Tiger House, Elephant House, and Queen’s Flower House. In the evening, you and your family can organize a BBQ party and enjoy delicious food. The feeling of eating grilled chicken in the cool climate, accompanied by the sound of a guitar, will be truly wonderful and memorable.
